ESC sending organisation in Spain

Estrellas del Sur has been an accredited supporting (sending) organisation of the European Solidarity Corps since 2023, holding a Quality Label with OID E10264295. Based in Córdoba, we recruit and prepare volunteers from all over Spain for hosting organisations across Europe.

Accreditation you can verify

Estrellas del Sur is one of the accredited sending organisations in Spain under the European Solidarity Corps. In the 2021-2027 programme the formal term is "supporting organisation"; "sending organisation" is the historical name, and the one everyone still uses. Either way, it means the same thing: we hold a Quality Label that lets us select, prepare and support Spanish volunteers for your project.

Don't take our word for it. Our accreditation is public and you can check it in under a minute on the official European Youth Portal.

What we do as your sending organisation

From the first call for candidates to the final report, we cover the whole sending side of the project so your team can focus on hosting.

Recruitment & selection across Spain

We publish your vacancy through our national channels, screen motivation letters and pre-select candidates who genuinely fit your project, including participants with fewer opportunities.

Pre-departure preparation & paperwork

Mandates and agreements signed on time, insurance enrolment, travel arrangements and a structured pre-departure training so the volunteer arrives informed and motivated.

Support during the mobility

A named contact person on our side, regular check-ins with the volunteer, and mediation with your team if any issue comes up, in Spanish and in English.

Follow-up

Youthpass support, participant reports for your final documentation, and dissemination of the project results in Spanish through our own channels.

How fast can we find you a volunteer?

Honestly: it depends on the profile and the dates, so we will not promise you a volunteer "next week". In practice we typically need 2 to 8 weeks to present suitable candidates. Broad profiles with flexible start dates sit at the fast end; very specific profiles (a particular language, a niche skill, tight dates) take longer.

What we do promise is a clear answer within a few working days on whether we can take on the search, and honest updates while it runs.

Speed things up: include this in your first email

  • Project dates and duration (short or long term)
  • Main tasks the volunteer will carry out
  • The volunteer profile you are looking for
  • Your infopack or project description
  • Your OID and, if available, the project reference

Where our volunteers come from

Our base is Andalusian; our reach is national.

We work from Córdoba, in the south of Spain, and our strongest local roots are in Andalusia. But our calls for volunteers run through national outreach channels: social media, university and youth-information networks, and partner entities across the country. Our calls reach young people all over Spain, in big cities and rural areas alike.

All of them are young people aged 18 to 30, the age range of the European Solidarity Corps, and we pay special attention to reaching participants with fewer opportunities, so that ESC volunteering is not only for those who already had everything within reach.

Already working across Europe

53 partner organisations in 17 countries have already worked with us on ESC volunteering, youth exchanges and training courses.

Frequently asked questions

Are you an accredited ESC sending organisation?

Yes. Estrellas del Sur has held a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label as a supporting (sending) organisation since 2023, with OID E10264295. You can verify our accreditation directly on the European Youth Portal. Official profile on the European Youth Portal

Which regions of Spain do you recruit from?

All of Spain. Our office is in Córdoba (Andalusia), but our calls for volunteers are national and open to young people from every Spanish region, and the whole process can run remotely.

How quickly can you present candidates?

Typically within 2 to 8 weeks from your first email, depending on how specific the profile is and how far away the start date is. Clear tasks and a good infopack always speed up the search.

Do you charge any fees?

No. Our work as a sending organisation is funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme. Neither the volunteer nor your organisation pays us anything for recruitment, preparation or support.

What support do volunteers get from you?

Before departure: selection, pre-departure training, paperwork, insurance and travel support. During the project: a named contact person, regular check-ins and mediation if needed. Afterwards: Youthpass guidance, reporting and dissemination in Spanish.

What do you need from us to start?

A short email with your project dates, the main tasks, the volunteer profile you are looking for, your infopack and your OID. With that we can confirm within a few working days whether we can start the search.

Do you also partner on Erasmus+ projects?

Yes. Beyond ESC volunteering we take part in Erasmus+ youth exchanges (KA152), training courses (KA153), youth participation activities (KA154) and small-scale partnerships (KA210), as sending, hosting or coordinating organisation. Full partnership information
